London bus drivers are being pushed to their limits during heatwaves like this 🌡️ While temperatures hit 30°C+, driver cabs can soar above 40°C, creating dangerous working conditions that worsen fatigue, dehydration and stress. Many drivers report faulty air conditioning, inadequate cooling systems, and pressure to keep buses running despite unsafe temperatures. Some even avoid drinking water because they don't have reliable access to toilets. This isn't just a workers' issue. it's a public safety issue. Fatigue caused by extreme heat can reduce concentration, slow reaction times and increase the risk of accidents. GOOD NEWS! (if you’re a CEO) 📈 Profits are booming. Unite analysis of quarterly results shows firms have raked in profits of £730 bn! Not bad for just three months. 💰 44 firms announced figures last month, including National Grid, Nationwide & BT, totalling a whopping £28.7 bn in profit. 🏦 The UK's big four banks made profits of £11 bn in that period. ⚡ National Grid announced underlying profits of £5.68 bn in its yearly announcement. Up 6%. "National Grid is raking in huge profits while workers and communities struggle. Our broken energy system needs urgent reform, and that means renationalising the grid” @UniteSharon

Cwm Taf’s Director of People and Lead Negotiator gets paid £235,000–£240,000 including £26,000 in benefits in kind and a +£30,000 increase on the previous year. Meanwhile, Health Visitors are being underpaid by £9000 because of the Health Boards refusal to recognise their correct pay band 😳 It’s been 19 weeks since these workers have been pushed into strike action, simply fighting for the Band 7 pay they deserve. No formal talks have taken place since 30 April, yet the Health Board continues to claim it is committed to resolving the dispute. While negotiations stall, families continue to miss out on vital Health Visiting services. Our members want to be back doing the job they love, but they cannot be expected to accept unfair pay. This is about fairness. It's time for the Health Board to honour the process, return to meaningful negotiations, and agree to the Band 7 settlement our members deserve. We’re calling on Plaid Cymru to act now and deliver on the promises made.
