I remember reading an article in which Alex talks about working very hard to conquer the crowds, and by the end of the tour they managed to play to really enthusiastic new Arctic Monkeys' fans.

It was before AM and I had the people around me asking me who they even were because I was the only one in our area acting as you should when they're on stage.

@draculatreat There’s plenty of videos out there of other band members being asked about the musical direction and them looking off just saying stuff like “yea Idk that’s just Alex”. AT is one of my favorite songwriters ever but Matt Helders is criminally underused since Humbug.

People have to stop with this conspiracy theory that he's a dictator imposing his ideas and "neutering" (lol what?) poor Matt. There isn't AM without Alex, no money, no fame. Nothing.

@draculatreat Nope. I am one of the few people who actually enjoy Suck It And See. I never expected them to keep making the first two albums over and over again. Didn’t expect it to start becoming an Alex Turner project with a bunch of of random side musicians and a great drummer neutered.
