The reports from the spokesperson of our great party, which exposes the plans of the government and its agents to revoke the licence of Rainbow Event Centre for the singular offence of hosting the African Democratic Congress convention slated for today, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, is a shameful and cowardly abuse of public office.
Let it be said without equivocation: coercing a private business owner to deny a lawfully registered opposition party the use of a venue is not governance. It is not politics. It is the naked conduct of a regime that has lost the argument, lost the people, and now reaches for the boot because it has nothing else left.
The ADC has paid every fee. The ADC has signed every contract. The ADC has broken no law. Our only offence is that we are organising, we are growing, and we are preparing to retire this failed government at the ballot box in 2027.
This is how democracies are strangled, not in a single dramatic blow, but in a thousand petty, vindictive acts against opposition parties, against free assembly, and against the sacred right of citizens to choose their own leaders. To the international community, and every democratic partner of Nigeria: take note of what is being done here tonight, and in whose name.
We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced. We will not bow to this creeping tyranny, and we will never bow to the petty tyrants behind it.
The convention will hold. The ADC will rise. And Nigeria will rise with it. -AA

I schooled in Onitsha High School, Onitsha. One morning, the principal Mrs Julie Ofoefuna informed us that Mr Peter Obi was coming to our school because the Senior Prefect called him and reported that the school building was at the verge of collapse which was true. We thought it was a joke because my school was one of the local schools then, we said” the governor has not finished visiting CKC, DMGS, St Charles, QRC”etc these are best schools then. By 12:00pm that day, he landed with Dr Kay Onyechi the state commissioner of basic education, he inspected the school. He said he will return after two weeks. Two weeks passed we didn’t see him, we took his words as normal Nigeria politicians 😭😭😂.On the third week which was school closing period, he landed. He came like a thief, no motorcades or sirens blowing ” he apologized for coming after two weeks, he said when he learnt that the school was in exam period, he decided to wait but to come after exam. In the end, he gave more than enough for the school renovation. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, nobody could mention any reasonable food. He gave each student ₦100 for snacks.

This is the last thing I’ll say on tribe and politics this month.
This narrative is deeply dishonest and unnecessarily triggering. Hausa voters largely backed Buhari because he's their baba, many Yorubas supported Tinubu, and even then the Yoruba vote was split, with a significant number of Yoruba youths choosing Obi. Igbos also gave a strong majority of their votes to Obi.
Ask the average Igbo person on the street why they support Obi and you’ll often hear that he’s their own, their person deserves to lead, same goes for Hausa towards Buhari and that’s completely VALID.
The truth is, many Nigerians tend to support candidates from their own tribe, even when it doesn’t directly benefit them. So singling out Yorubas for something that cuts across all groups is unfair! This tendency toward tribal loyalty is widespread and pretending otherwise is hypocritical

Starship issues aside, my thoughts are pretty simple. We all saw the video of Burna Boy dancing and laughing at Tunez after the incident. But honestly, I still think Burna Boy has some level of respect for Wizkid.
Normally, Burna Boy isn’t the type to come out and explain himself. he would rather escalate things than address them. But this time, he responded on Snapchat and now a live video of him explaining the situation to Shallipopi.
To me, that says a lot. They might have their differences, but I still believe there’s some underlying respect there, especially considering Burna Boy is someone who typically doesn’t care wtf anyone thinks.

There is no real momentum for ADC in Southern Nigeria. We are not seeing any significant political heavyweights joining the party or excitements as we having in the North beyond its early members—yet many in the South still expect the ticket to be handed to them on a platter, simply because they believe it is the turn of the South.
