🚨🇮🇷Iran outmaneuvers US blockade with bold energy pivot Iran is redirecting larger volumes of crude and condensates into domestic refining and power generation to free up natural gas for pipeline export to Iraq and Turkiye. The shift is a response to the US naval blockade, which has limited seaborne crude exports. 🔸Iran's calculated response: ▪️ Rather than letting oil sit idle, Tehran is channeling crude and petroleum liquids directly into domestic refining, power generation, and petrochemicals — strengthening the national economy from within ▪️ This frees up Iran's vast natural gas reserves — the second largest in the world — for pipeline exports to regional partners Turkey and Iraq ▪️ Iran is also routing oil exports via overland rail to China and truck routes to neighbors, routes the US Navy simply cannot touch 🔸Regional power, not isolation: Far from being cornered, Iran is deepening energy integration with its neighbors. Turkey and Iraq both depend heavily on Iranian gas — Baghdad relies on it to keep the lights on across its southern governorates. This interdependence gives Tehran real political weight in the region. 🔸The long game: Washington's blockade may have disrupted Iran's oil revenues, but it has also accelerated a strategic transformation — pushing Iran toward becoming a regional energy hub built on pipeline diplomacy rather than dependence on global maritime routes. @NewRulesGeo

Last night, President Trump made a move that came as a surprise to many. He got TOUGHER in his negotiating position. But why did he do this is the question many are asking right now. Iran has consistently rejected terms offered by the United States because, quite frankly, they are ridiculously maximalist and entirely detached from the reality of the situation. Trump is at the table with Iran holding a 7 & 2 off-suit, and Iran is sitting with pocket aces. So why even waste the time to make an offer Iran is sure to refuse immediately? Because the deal wasn’t meant for Iran. It was meant for American consumption. Throughout this conflict, from a strategic standpoint, Trump has been absolutely dog walked by the Iranian regime. From the very first day that Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz, and every day since, Iran has held the upper hand, and it only gets stronger by the day. Trump knows this, even as he wallows in self pity and denial. Iran obviously knows this, and sees the upcoming bullet train of the World Cup, lowest SPR levels in history, midterms, cratering approval numbers… everything is going south for Trump fast at this point. It’s spiraling, and Trump looks increasingly desperate for a deal. As much as Trump has tried to claim Iran is “begging” for a deal, it is obvious to everyone that it is really Trump that is on his hands and knees. So if he’s going to reject the latest Iranian proposal because the terms are simply a step too far… why not give the image, the bluster, the BRAVADO of a “tough on Iran” Commander in Chief to sell to the American people. “Trump is dictating the terms” “Trump is running the show” “The United States is in control” Of course, this is all obviously rubbish. Iran knows that. Trump knows that. And everyone around the world knows that. But it’s not meant for them, it’s meant for his MAGA base. Trump, by setting forth even more ludicrous terms, allows for a kicking of the can down the road, and the veneer of a tough President that will placate his base that has been ready to rip him to shreds. It’s not a serious offer. It doesn’t have even the slightest of chance to be accepted by Iran. But it was never meant for them. It was meant for the desperate and hopeless President Trump to try to prove to his base that he is still in control. Even when he is clearly not.

The Hormuz Letter
The Hormuz Letter@HormuzLetter·
BREAKING: Despite Iran completely rejecting all previous proposals over nuclear issues, Hormuz authority, frozen funds and making clear it won’t accept any of the current frameworks, the Trump administration has sent an "new, even tougher" proposal with harder demands "designed to speed up the process by putting pressure on Iran to accept," per NYT. Trump has also been "frustrated" with how long Iran has taken to respond to US proposals and requests, mainly because Iran is rejecting Trump’s daily requests which are sent are sent almost hourly through various channels to finally accept the deal framework.

Anwar al-Sadat in the 1970s played a big role in creating the first sectarian lies used against Syria to plunge it into a Lebanon-style civil war. That's because Hafez al-Assad rejected Sadat's Israel normalization and acceptance of American patronage. These talking points would be revived in 2011. Sadat's Egypt and Saddam Hussein's Iraq backed the Syrian Muslim Brotherhood's terrorist attacks across Syria in the 1970s and 1980s, such as the Aleppo artillery school massacre which killed 32 cadets. This support was provided in the form of intense radio propaganda through Radio Cairo and Radio Baghdad, and in the form of clandestine training and weapons smuggling (mainly by Iraq). Alongside these two, Radio Israel and the Phalangist-run Voice of Lebanon were applying media warfare pressure against Syria. From The Struggle For Power in Syria, 4th edition.

Data indicates that sect representation in positions of power in Syria before 2011 (government and military) correlates with the sect composition of Syria. Sunnis became more politically enfranchised as literacy rates went up between 1963 and 2000. By 2000, Sunni Arabs made up around 67% of the Ba'ath Party regional commands. This compares to 54% in 1963. Before the war, Sunnis (including both Kurds and Arabs) made up 74% of the Syrian population, according to the CIA. Dr. Michael Izady's Gulf2000 Project at Columbia University estimates Sunni Arabs to be 59% of the Syrian population in 2010. This indicates an overrepresentation of Sunni Arabs in positions of power. Alawites are also overrepresented, with Alawites making up around 13% of the pre-war population according to the CIA, and 20% of the party command in 2000. Christians are underrepresented, with 11% of the Syrian population before the war being Christian, while only 7% of party commands are controlled by them. Druze are proportionately represented, while all other sects or ethnicities are minimally or not represented (namely Kurds, Ismailis, and Shias). Of note, of the regional party command members in the year 2000 who had a military background (23 out of 98): 56% (13) were Sunni, while 43% (10) were Alawites. There weren't Druze or Christian party command members of military background. In the early days of the Ba'athist Syrian Republic, Ismailis and Druze appeared to play a very big role in the party, likely due to higher literacy rates and better educational backgrounds. Their presence declined as Sunni literacy rates rose, allowing for increased political enfranchisement and participation in political office by a larger pool of qualified individuals. Iran knew. Thanks to Chinese satellites they knew exactly where they took off from as well. That’s why they hurt UAE so consequentially and destroyed its oil infrastructure. That childish Emirati misadventure cost UAE its reputation for stability, and scared away westerners, millionaires & investors. The only people coming to UAE are Israelis. 40% of their residents are already Indian. A nation of expats dependent on Indians and Israelis the two most apartheid disloyal nations on the planet…. This won’t end well for UAE

Mark Lynch for U.S. Senate
Lindsey Graham has spent decades answering to the special interests, lobbyists, and donor networks that run Washington. I won’t. This campaign is not funded by political action committees or special interest groups. I don’t owe AIPAC. I don’t owe the establishment. I don’t owe the political class. I owe nothing to anyone but the people of South Carolina and the principles I refuse to compromise. On June 9, send Washington a message: South Carolina’s Senate seat is not for sale.
