The north Gaza is starving , yesterday over 60 cases of poisoning occurred in a school in Beit Lahia, located in the northern Gaza Strip. The majority of those affected were children, and the cause was consuming expired canned food out of desperation due to the lack of food.

@Tioz49 @SummersAnne Yes, you are exactly right. This is what safe at home schemes in each state and territory offer but they remain woefully under-funded despite evaluations which demonstrate their effectiveness.

@SummersAnne Surely if the need to relocate a woman for her safety is recognised, so too is the danger her abuser represents. Wouldn't the most efficient/fair action be to remove the danger to her and restrain/lockup/monitor the potential perp rather than dislocate the woman? Circles. 😣

@JoshButler Specific to the $5000. To be clear - its not new. You cant claim it if you are escaping family violence. It literally takes weeks & weeks for women who apply themselves to get the support. It makes NO difference to perpetrator violence. We apply every other day for it already.

@SummersAnne Immediate increased funding for refuges, supported housing and safe at home schemes could make a difference. This policy is just more hollow posturing and as you say Anne, a waste of money with no good effect.

I have just heard that Palestinian parents are writing the names of their children on their bodies so that they can be identified if they are killed. How absolutely shocking and obscene that we are all not calling for an immediate ceasefire.
