For context, he’s completely new to investing. Doesn’t know what an ETF is yet. I’m not trying to make him a stock picker on day one. Just want him on a platform that’s simple, low-fee, and beginner friendly and something he be looking at all the time.

@CGInvesting10 For a long time I was reluctant. Reason being that I was able to max my Roth 401k with a 4% match for 3 years in a row in my early 20s Now have contributed 4% plus the match for years since However, I decided to open up my Roth IRA at age 26 & plan to max it out every year

I don’t understand people’s reason on why they don’t have a Roth IRA I guess they don’t like tax free returns 🤷🏼‍♂️

@itsbullionaire_ Completely agree. A good method for this is to use two separate brokerages. Vanguard holds my ETFs Sofi holds my stock picks

The stock pickers vs ETF investor debate is dumb. You can absolutely do both. Use ETFs to build wealth steadily. Use individual stocks to take concentrated bets on your best ideas. Change my mind.

@cmsinvests Although $HOOD may outperform… I choose $SOFI all day. To me, @SoFi encourages true wealth building & management. While robinhood seems to tailor more towards bad habits. I hate the idea of people’s savings being so close to prediction markets or sports betting.

If you could only invest in ONE. Are you picking $SOFI or $HOOD?

Should I switch my primary bank to $SOFI? I’ve always heard great things about it, currently I just use a regional bank that doesn’t really offer any benefits (other than physical branches) For anyone who uses them, what have you not liked about it? The HYSA does look pretty incredible
