@LEAPTRADER_ $SOFI for me. Still early in its cycle, sentiment is low, and you’re not paying for perfection yet. That’s where the bigger upside usually comes from.

Here’s why I prefer selling monthly options over weeklies…four data-driven reasons: 𝟭) 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿. As expiration nears, gamma accelerates, magnifying delta’s sensitivity to price moves. With weeklies, this happens fast…any directional miscalculation stings harder, forcing you to nail timing and trend. Monthly options? Longer horizons dampen gamma’s bite, giving you breathing room to be less perfect on direction. 𝟮) 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂. Weeklies, especially out-of-the-money (OTM), bleed theta at a snail’s pace as expiration looms…decay flattens out, eroding your time-value edge. People flash those steep at-the-money (ATM) theta curves, but OTM reality differs. Monthlies, with weeks to unwind, deliver consistent decay, keeping the premium clock ticking in your favor. 𝟯) 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸. Weeklies have tight standard deviation bands…put on a 1SD OTM position, and you’re dangerously close to ATM if the stock twitches. Monthly options stretch those curves wide, offering a true statistical buffer. You’re not just selling premium; you’re buying safety. 𝟰) 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿’𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹…constant monitoring, relentless volatility, and expiration pressure. Monthlies let you step back, ride broader cycles, and avoid the noise of short-term whipsaws. Precision’s overrated when time’s on your side. The data backs this: longer-dated options balance risk and reward for disciplined sellers. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗻.

🚨Options Selling Hack: Your ROI on Premiums SOARS as Stock Prices Rise! 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀: You buy a rental property for $150K, renting it for $1.5K/month = 12% ROI💰 Over time the property value jumps to $300K, rents increase to $3K/month Still based on your $150K investment, ROI skyrockets to 24%! Same with $TSLA - premiums at 200/share vs. 400/share? Night and day!

@theoptpremium Appreciate the thoughts. Totally agree weekly can be a great tool if used in the right circumstances but monthlies are better over the long term

The Option Premium@theoptpremium·
I agree with the direction here, especially for most traders. Monthlies give you time, flexibility, and margin for error, and that matters more than squeezing out a little extra decay. The big advantage is you’re not forced to be perfect. With weeklies, one sharp move and gamma takes over. With monthlies, you can adjust, roll, and manage instead of react. The only pushback I’d offer is this. Weeklies aren’t bad, they’re just situational tools. They work when volatility is elevated, expected moves are well-defined, or you’re trading around events. But as a core approach, monthlies tend to align better with how professionals think. Let time work for you, not against you, and manage risk with room to breathe rather than precision timing. I trade monthlies 99% of the time, but I've found most want the quick payment of the weekly without understanding the risk involved. Posts like yours hopefully helps.

$PATH teamed up with $MSFT to make automated business workflows (like robotic process automation) much more secure. UiPath’s automation tools now integrate deeply with Microsoft’s security products, Defender for Cloud (scans for threats), Sentinel (monitors & investigates security incidents), and Security Copilot (AI-assisted analysis). 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆: • Detect threats in automated processes • Add business context to alerts • Respond faster
