@notgaetti Haha. Reminds me of youth baseball instruction on here. People share info/methods that they teach to kids, but twice as many people reply to tell them that they’re doing it wrong.

Everything that's wrong with today's baseball discourse in a nutshell: (1) I do a birthday post for a HOF'er that happens to hold an absurd number of MLB records (2) Guy chimes in with "but still not a top 30 pitcher" because people can't just not complain for 2 seconds

@BrandonBeck4 @dohyoungpark Yes, I think that's the mistake by the umpire. Here's another example where the umpire *almost* calls it but catches himself.... youtube.com/watch?v=axZEb-… I don't think he's supposed to yell "catcher's interference" but I'm not sure what technically makes a play dead.

@dohyoungpark Seems odd for the home plate umpire to jump out of his crouch and scream "catchers interference" on contact if that doesn't signal that the play is dead

From re-watching, I think pretty much everyone on the play, from Miranda to Solano to McGuire, thought the ball was dead. Even the veteran writers up here can't remember seeing a declined catcher's interference before, so this seems to be rare territory.

It’s 5 degrees out. It stopped raining about 8 hours ago. My sump pump is still pumping a steady stream of water out of the basement. And it’s only in the sump pump hole. Looks like ground water coming from under the basement floor ☹️
