@TehPapaStu @yanxchick sure, but they need to do better. Then again, i guess they dont as they have no competition. as someone that cares more and more about Flagship the older i get its a shame to see such lazy photo selections.

@ThoseBackPages @yanxchick Well it’s hard to compare now releases to anything more than about a decade old. The number of additional releases a year has to be massive. And impacts the teams build out of the sets.

For a long time, I used to think that the images chosen for flagship were so poor because the intern they hired to select images just didn't know any better. Now I think it's intentional. they just use bland photos for convenience, or lack of liability I suppose

@ThoseBackPages I’d think to ask @yanxchick what kind of timeline they’ve got to put together the images for a set and how many sets are in production at a time and we’ll quickly see that they just don’t have that kind of time to pull images for 330 (or whatever) cards in a set.

@ThoseBackPages Then again, I may be wrong… but my desire to chase cards that were sub$-100 and now magically $600 and $800 isn’t likely going to hold. God onky knows how many more are in grading limbo. I have 150 that I joke about as “inventory for 2027!”

From 2003 to 2009 LeBron James has a total of ~9,500 Serial Numbered Flagship cards in total if every SKU is opened. in the 2025 Flagship release LeBron James has ~3,300 Serial Numbered Flagship cards. so about 33% of what he has from 2003 to 2009 Pick your lanes wisely

@ThoseBackPages Damn! I just added up the graded Jordan 86 fleers today and just over 50k have been graded at PSA SGC and BGS. I know many have been cracked out and regraded and many crossed over from one to another. But thats not scarce except in 9 and higher grades.

You guys seen the post about PSA using new slabs with plastic inserts, possibly to prevent crack-outs and resubs? Well, my PSA order that popped last week has both. Luke #1 obviously a bigger card than Obi-Wan that does not seem to; you can see the film on the backs. Thoughts?
