I tested the Flexbar (2K OLED touch bar for Win/Mac/Linux) as a developer, here’s my take:
It’s basically a programmable execution layer for your workflow.
✔ Run builds
✔ Trigger VSCode tasks
✔ Git add/commit/push in one tap
✔ Start/stop Docker
✔ Automate test → build → deploy sequences
✔ Display CPU / system metrics live
The JavaScript-based SDK is the real power move you can connect your own APIs and turn it into a live dev dashboard.
But if you’re the kind of dev who automates everything and optimizes micro-friction this is genuinely powerful.

AI filters have gotten good enough to properly trick a security startup hiring for a backend engineer.

@GergelyOrosz Years ago there was great support for plugins for example there was full Cocopods support right from Xcode, but then Apple decided to lock Xcode after Chinese spyware attack.

Oh wow: there's an extension that uses a host of clever tricks to add support for GH Copilot, and attempt to monitor Xcode state! (thank you @KamilPyc!)
Imagine if Xcode allowed this kind of support to be added natively, without hacks upon hacks:

It's notable that coding assistants like Copilot, Tab9 and many others are available in most IDEs... save for XCode.
This means we have an unlikely "control group" to determine if these AI assistants make a major difference in coding: native iOS devs vs everyone else!
