@sweatystartup My kids were running a $10k/year business by 7. At 5, not only could they get their own water but they could run to the store to buy daddy a pack. I’m not impressed. When will you teach them to start picking up the phone and make some calls?

My kids are turning 7 and 5 in a few months. They can both take a shower, brush teeth, get dressed and put themselves to bed. They get up and get dressed before coming down for breakfast. They can also make their own cereal and get their own water, etc. Their shoes get put away when they take them off. They pick up their own toys before bed. The oldest will get his own tent for camping this year. He’ll also learn to put it together himself. Kids are as needy as you allow them to become! They act like babies until they are 10 because you’re still putting their pants on them twice a day! Stop putting your kids in a bubble.

This is a serious question for my friends on X: What does being wealthy mean to you? Get up an hour early tomorrow morning or go in a quiet place with a glass of wine later tonight and just write. Write some bullet points that outline what you want your life to look like. What are you spending your time doing? Who is with you? What are you working on? What do you do for fun? Are you fit and healthy? Now the big tactical question: How much money do you really need to make it all happen? For me it was around $20K per month after tax. At $240K per year after tax I could do pretty much everything I've ever wanted to do. I could play golf. I could live in a nice home. I could drive a nice car. I could send my kids to a good school. I could travel. I could give. So what is your number? And now this is the big one: What is the most realistic path forward for you with the lowest risk and highest odds of success to get there? What business endeavor has the highest odds of you hitting your number and your ideal life? If you aren't sure, that is okay. Write that down too! But you should look at the rest of your life through this lens. And by the way: This is a 10 year game. Maybe even a 20 year game. Your plan can and should have some boring, not sexy steps. Sometimes you have to delay gratification and do things you don't want to do because you know they will lead to bigger and better opportunities later down the line. Get after it and I look forward to reading your replies.

When Marquette stormed the court vs. #1 Nova in 2017 my buddy Tony didn’t try and initiate contact with Brunson (he could have). Instead he just ripped a heater mid-court. Pure class. If you ban court storming you also ban mid-court cigs. Let’s not overreact here!

@sweatystartup Hi Nick, I am a pest control artist myself. Mainly focus on using Anteaters to eat termites. I got my start trapping pet rats at my clients houses and pretending I fixed the problem. The anteater business has really intrigued me lately. Make good pets too. Thanks.

My name is Richard Strocher. I’m a Gen-Z Conservative who is fighting for President Trump in 2024. Trump is the only America First candidate. I will loyally aid him in defeating the deep state, ending the border crisis, and restoring order to our nation. Will you join me?

PSA: Bleeding to death is how most accident victims die (not blunt force). If you can stop the bleeding, you and your family are more likely to live. Carry tourniquets and take a “stop the bleed” class. You could save yourself, your child or another person. Strap them to your vehicles here. Get a nice 511 CAT tourniquet (not on Amazon) and a holder and velcro it to your vehicle. I know a guy who strapped one of these on his leg after getting T Boned and saved his own life by being able to survive until the EMTs arrived. I know another person who saved the life of a motorcyclist who had gashed his leg open during an accident. This is a no brainer for all outdoor activities (cars, bikes, motorcycles, 4x4s, snow mobiles, hunting, hiking). Don’t be a naive idiot - learn to protect your family.

I suppose inventing a BS name out of the air for a very not hidden valley is more efficient than saying treatment plant, gas and weed exit. This location also has no mining history under the HV name either. I call BS and an opportunity to rename the spot.

It’s time we deal with the obvious fact that Hidden Valley does not exist it’s an imaginary place that has been given an interstate exit and we all just act like that’s ok

@StormSkiJournal Don’t think it’s fair to have an opinion on this if you don’t live in UT. Of course it would benefit visitors but you don’t have to live with it (and pay for it) every other day of the year.

Lots of complaints about potential cost of an LCC gondola, but right now those costs just shift to the individual. We ask everyone to super-equip their car & hope they can handle the drive. A gondola would move the resort base to 5k feet & just float right over the whole mess.

NEW: Rescue team has found someone buried in the snow after an avalanche hit Palisades Tahoe ski resort in California. Good work! The Tahoe area is getting crushed by a winter storm with wind speeds of over 100 mph at mountain peaks. Unfortunately, 66-year-old Kenneth Kidd was killed. Four people were caught up in the avalanche and 2 were buried. One being Kidd.
