The biggest plot twist in sports: In 1863, England created The Football Association (FA) and standardized the rules of what became Association Football. At the time there were multiple versions of football - rugby football, association football, and other local football codes. British students had a habit of shortening words and adding ”-er”: Rugby = Rugger Association = Assoc. = Soccer England invented the word 'soccer' then spent the next 160 years making fun of Americans for using it.

ETA 12:49am Eastern. Freddy currently just crossed over the Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri. The forest is home to an ancient Ozark landscape with more than 5,000 caves, massive natural springs, rocky glades, and even old volcanic mountains; spanning over 1.5 million acres.
