Does one of your alumni have a dinosaur named after them?? Ours does! The Yuxisaurus Kopchicki was recently discovered and named after John Kopchick, PhD, a prestigious molecular biologist, and beloved alum of The Graduate School. Congratulations, Dr. Kopchick! #WeAreGSBS

Some of our #cancer team - Dr. Reeto Basu (@alchemistry007) and PhD students @Prateekul and @emillydaviss - traveled to the @AACR Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA to learn from world-renowned experts in cancer research, as well as present posters on their work! #AACR2022

Congrats to one of our newer students Chris Walsh who has already made great progress on his project! He is investigating if osteopathic manipulative medicine could improve outcomes in patients with cancer.

Congratulations to our Kopchick Lab alumna, Dr. Elizabeth Jensen, DO/PhD @OUHCOM, for matching to the @ClevelandClinic Pediatric Residency Program! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see all the wonderful things you will achieve in the field of pediatric endocrinology.

We had the honor to welcome @OHIO_President, Dr. Hugh Sherman and his wife, Nikki, to our lab at @EBI_OU last month! They are now “experts” on GH after rigorous training from all of our lab members. Come back and visit anytime, Dr. Sherman!

Chris is currently a DO/PhD student in @OUHCOM and @OhioU_TBS program here at @ohiou, and he received his B.S. in Biology from @uakron (Akron, OH). Chris's hometown is Doylestown, OH, and his favorite Athens food is @avalanchepizza!

Katie is currently a 5th-year Ph.D. student in the @ClevelandClinic in Cleveland, OH, studying iron metabolism in glioblastoma. Her favorite memory from her time at the Kopchick Lab is traveling to the GH & IGF-1 conference in Tel Aviv, Israel with the whole lab!

This week's Alumni Spotlight is @Scientist_KT! Katie worked in our lab from 2010-2017 with Dr. @BerrymanDarlene, studying the influence of GH on beiging of white adipose tissue, while earning both her B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Food & Nutrition Sciences from @ohiou.

Emily is currently a Ph.D. student in the @MCBOhioU1 program here at @ohiou, and she also received her B.S. in Biochemistry from here. Emily's hometown is Pittsburgh, PA, and her favorite Athens food is sushi from @GingerAthens!
