Wonderful pres. by Sergio Rutella testing commercial memory-like NK cells: WU-NK-101, cryopreserved, off-the-shelf. Memory programming with resistance to hypoxia / immunosuppressive TME - ready for AML and solid tumors! #NKcell #ASH23 ash.confex.com/ash/2023/webpr…

CONGRESS | #ASH23 | Sergio Rutella, @TrentUni shares data on W-NK, concluding that W-NK cells are effective against AML cells under culture conditions to mimic hypoxia and immunosuppressive TME. W-NK is also observed to persist in BM tissues, to control AML in vivo. #AMLsm #leusm

Very cool! We actually just reported the first case of donor-derived follicular lymphoma after solid organ transplant! ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.120… @obigriffith @malachigriffith @KahlBrad @LabFehniger

#ScienceSaturday Did you know that in some animals such as #shellfish, cancers can spread from one organism to another? This has not been documented in humans (except in rare cases of organ transplantation) and our well developed immune system would reject a cancer cell from someone else, in a reaction termed an alloresponse. And don’t worry, you can’t catch #cancer from eating shellfish! Here’s an excellent article by the New York Times describing these cancers: nyti.ms/3ZM5l1q

Researchers at @WUSTLmed have received a grant from the @NIH to investigate immune responses to a cancer-causing virus after organ transplantation in children. #WUDeptMedicine Todd A. Fehniger, MD, PhD, @WashUOnc is one of the principal investigators. l8r.it/c1Y8
