NEW: I am calling for an independent investigation into the loss of water pressure to local fire hydrants and the reported unavailability of water supplies from the Santa Ynez Reservoir. We need answers to ensure this does not happen again and we have every resource available to fight these catastrophic fires.

On NYE, my hometown of Sunol was hit hard by an atmospheric river. It was the worst storm the town had seen in 40 years. My mom’s house flooded and I documented as they picked up the pieces. My @sfchronicle writing debut, please spend time with this one bit.ly/3H4AJ3A
