Don't read THE TALES OF TERROR AND TORMENT. They're too dark, too gut-wrenching, too overwhelming and awe-inspiring for the average reader. Stay away. Stick to bland, by-the-numbers horror. I mean, why would you want to read stuff that rots your soul and breaks your mind?

@NJSimmondsbooks Yeah, this. I have a bunch of notebooks full of scenes/ideas etc. And, except for Man-Tiger for practical reasons, I handwrite all my first drafts. Maybe I should start posting timestamped pics of those drafts as proof going forward 😂

Just a reminder that the first 10 chapters of Feral Bloom are free to preview on the Zon, and it is also on Kindle Unlimited if you fancy taking a gander at a few pages here and there? amzn.eu/d/0eAfrutR

@jal3db3 That stack of Barker books is doing some precarious work🤣 Some brilliant books there!

@Whitedale_U Personally, I've not worried about using/not using em dashes, certain phrases, or any this, that, or other in my writing. AI is a tool, and I use it as such, but I write my books, not an algorithm via prompts, so I'll use whatever techniques work for that particular story.

I'm no fan of the overuse of em dashes for every punctuation mark under the sun, but telling people not to use them because of AI is like telling people not to use words because of AI. 🤷

@timmckay52 @Molly_Macabre_ Nice review. Love this book. Like the very best horror fiction, it takes chances and refuses to hold your hand. Character work is spot on as well. 🔥

Just finished What Comes Before by @Molly_Macabre_ Read it in one sitting, which feels rare for me these days. Twisty and well-written. Loved it. Refreshingly good and I couldn't stop. Absolutely bonkers to me that this book isn't flooded with 5 stars and glowing reviews.

Jan's grim, grounded, and gorgeously written standalone horrors Eyes Wide Open and The Devil in Mia are as good as indie horror gets. And here we are, treated to another! If you're a horror fan or just someone who loves quality writing, then this one's for you!

Okay, finally, delighted to announce that this grim little baby is yours for the taking. 🔗 in comments. Don’t be shy. Blah blah blah. Not fibbing, though - this one’s a banger 🤘🏼❤️

Writers, describe your book, or book series in one trailer line I'll go first - "Arthur Thorn thought his life couldn't get any worse, then he became a Werewolf, and it still did!" Your go! #Writingcommunity

Really love this review because it highlights the dread and bleak topics, but recognizes that it's a story of strenght and hope and carrying on when it's the last thing you want to do. Can't have sunshine without a little (or in the case of Dark Bloom--A LOT) rain 🌧️
