@Lokitoth

I teach computers to explore and learn at MSR-NYC. Once upon a time, I built Cortana; I still stink at Halo. Not PR - not paid to Tweet - so opinions all mine.

If you act in a racist manner in fighting racism, you have made the world worse. (1/)

@DomTechnostate Raise a whole generation of artsy girls devoted to fuck the brains out of Marxist engineers and scientists. Right now the reproductive organs of the new generations of girls are too aligned with the material interests of what you call "late stage capitalism".

We must create a situation where Marxism is more associated with engineers and scientists than it is with Youtubers and twitch streamers

@TrisH0x2A That genuinely has not been my experience. Could you expand a bit on this? Did you find that there are specific common failure cases that people should watch for or is it just stochastic? (And do you have a sense of the propensity?)

LLMs writing C++ is genuinely dangerous and nobody is talking about it it will confidently generate code with use-after-free, iterator invalidation, and data races. it compiles. it passes your unit tests. it corrupts memory in production.

@ChrisMartzWX I suspect we need to wind down a lot of things first for such a move to be viable.

No you wouldn’t. The 16th Amendment says that Congress has the authority to levy a federal income tax. It does not 𝑟𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑟𝑒 Congress to levy one, and it also does not specify income tax rate(s) or brackets. Those were set by statutory law in the tax code. Congress could pass a tax bill changing the rate tables in the tax code so that all brackets are 0%. That would require: • A simple majority in the House of Representatives • A simple majority in the Senate if it were to pass the budget reconciliation process. Otherwise, it would need 60 votes. Repealing the 16th Amendment would be ideal, but that’s extremely difficult to do. Setting the income tax rate to a flat ZERO would be far easier and doable if the GOP wasn’t filled with spineless cowards.
Dan Taifer@DanTaifer

@ChrisMartzWX Actually you would need to reverse the 16th Amendment.

@DastDn This was done to them, by design, as a means of producing revolutionaries. To some extent, some of them are abuse victims in this. They went on to abuse more people in the same way, but such is the cycle of (Jacobin) abuse.

@MarkRPellegrino @yvessirae Oh we really do not want to get into a discussion of universal suffrage and the responsibilities only one side of a protected class had to accept for them.

Clean water? Capitalists Five day work week? Initiated by a capitalist. Child labor laws? Picking up on trends set by capitalists. Right to vote? By protesters who still understood that their right to protest did not supersede my right to drive to work. Enjoy a piece of art. Or Listen to a speaker at a university.

"I hate protesters" where do you think your clean water, 5 day work week, seat belts, child labor laws, and right to vote came from?

@BattlingBud @MarkRPellegrino @HistoryBoomer No, the center of the Overton Window is not the same in Europe as it is in North America and South America. You can easily choose a basis that allows you to compare the two, because they share the same structure.

Elon is trolling about the guilt-by-association, but, like many, he seems to believe the "Hitler was a socialist" nonsense. Hitler was a socialist the way the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic. People getting history wrong always pisses me off.

Trying to create a one-size-fits-all solution will simply reduce the number of configurations that are allowed, irrespective of how viable they are.

Moreover, it ignores differences between households. A single young adult has different financial constraints than a parent of four. Then, the Many States are intended to allow experimentation without "all-eggs-in-one-basket", this leads to extra intra-regional variance in prices

This is a misunderstanding not of jobs but of the minimal wage. Minimal Wage is a societal agreement that we will not create jobs unless they pay at least X amount per hour. But that includes all possible jobs, not just those for the primary income(s) of a household.
𐌁𐌉Ᏽ 𐌕𐌉𐌌𐌉@OrevaZSN

People are really out there arguing that you shouldn't be able to pay rent and support yourself on a minimum wage job lol. Okay, then what exactly are jobs for?

@BattlingBud @MarkRPellegrino @HistoryBoomer So yes, I'll agree with you that Marxism has won the intra-socialist wars. Nonetheless, Fascism is intellectually descended from Socialism/Syndicalism/Trade-Unionism, primarily the non-Marxism forms. Modern socialism is an amalgam of all of those.

So bizarre to come onto right wing X and see the constant dooming, the fear mongering, incessant blackpilling about inevitable Democrat victory and then I go on Bluesky and it's just Democrats so despondent that they're either saying don't vote or threatening violence.
