@100kDiary This is why: reported record Q1 2026 results on April 29, 2026, featuring $1.1 billion in adjusted net revenue (up 41% year-over-year) and $167 million in net income. 10th consecutive quarter of profitability, driven by 14.7 million members and a strong 5.94% net interest margin

Everyone on here is screaming “$SOFI to $30, buy the dip, generational opportunity.” It’s down 40% YTD. Not a dip. A trend. The fintech bros pumping it forget one thing: SOFI isn’t a tech company. It’s a bank with a worse cost of capital than the banks it’s trying to disrupt. When rates were zero, the story worked. Now? Loan demand softening, credit losses creeping, valuation still priced like it’s 2021. Stop buying other people’s bags because a YouTuber with a ring light told you to.

@cryptorover I think pretending the value of money is the same right now as 25 years ago is silly. We aren't there yet (but we are all just speculating so who knows)

🩸 HUGE WARNING: 🇺🇸 Warren Buffett says that we have never had people in a more gambling mood than now. $380,000,000,000 in cash is his answer because he believes things are about to get MUCH worse. The last time Warren Buffet was selling SO aggressively? RIGHT BEFORE THE GREAT RECESSION IN 2008.

Portfolio update. I've moved my money from my cash ISA into stocks and shares. Close to 23k. 9 years ago, when my first son was conceived, I was a mess, 30k in debt. Living with my parents at 26. Living hand to mouth and just partying. I knew I had to change, I found God again, committed to my girlfriend, now wife. Started saving. Worked up to modestly good jobs (100k household income). The debt is paid off. We have a forever home, 2 kids, and nearly 23k in savings. Our secret? No impulse buying. Enjoying life, but resisting the urge to want want want. Packed lunches. Taking food to the cinema. Not spoiling the kids into excess. Modest but nice holidays. Basic but tasty shops. Batch cooking. No fancy cars, just solid reliable cars that do the job. No overdraft fees, no expensive credit. No 5k at Christmas. All that mounts up. All 100-500 a month habits that can lead to putting 500-1000 into savings a month. And the message here is, if you're struggling, you can make these changes too. If I can do it, anyone can

Seeing the people I follow on X, with all these big numbers in their ISAs would have defeated me in the past or made me feel like, “what’s the point in starting?” But, it’s actually motivating me. We all have to start from somewhere. We all have different experiences with money and habits.
