After 20 years as a professor of foreign affairs, I had the honor today of taking the oath before H.E. President @LJRashid and H.E. FM @Fuad_Husseein on my appointment as Ambassador at @Iraqimofa. I now look forward to serving #Iraq as a diplomat, with integrity and dedication.🇮🇶

I received a phone call from IAEA DG @rafaelmgrossi . We exchanged views on regional developments & ongoing efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote stability.

Twelve years on, the Camp Speicher massacre remains a painful reminder of the human cost of extremism. We honour the memory of the young Iraqis who were murdered and renew our commitment to justice, dignity, and ensuring such atrocities are never repeated.

I attended my first meeting of the @Iraqimofa Council today, chaired by H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. @Fuad_Husseein, during which a number of issues related to enhancing the Ministry’s institutional performance and strengthening its ability to respond to regional and international developments were discussed.

ببالغ الحزن والأسى، ننعى رحيل المرجع الديني الجليل آية الله العظمى الشيخ محمد إسحاق الفياض (قدس سره الشريف)، الذي كرّس حياته لخدمة الدين الإسلامي الحنيف والحوزة العلمية في النجف الأشرف، وأسهم بعلمه وفقهه ومواقفه الحكيمة في خدمة الأمة الإسلامية.

With profound sorrow, we received the news of the passing of His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Ishaq Al-Fayyad, one of the most senior Maraji’ of the Hawza of Najaf. His scholarship, wisdom, and dedication leave a profound legacy for Iraq and the wider Islamic world.

لم يكن يومُ الغدير تجسيداً لسلطةٍ تُمنح، بل لأمانةٍ تُحمَل. وبهذا المعنى، فإن إمامةَ أهل البيت عليهم السلام لم تكن امتداداً لمُلكٍ كما كان لكسرى أو قيصر، بل امتداداً للنبوّةِ بكلِّ ما تحمله من قيمِ الرسالةِ الإلهيّة، التي تُحدِّد دورَ الإنسان على الأرض بوصفه خليفةً فيها. عيد غدير مبارك

تهانينا الخالصة لهيأة الحج والعمرة ولبعثة الحج العراقية بمناسبة فوزها بجائزة “لبّيتُم” لأفضل بعثة حج. فوزٌ يليق بجهودهم، ويرفع اسم العراق عاليا في خدمة ضيوف الرحمن.

رغم المآخذ الكثيرة على بنية واداء الأمم المتحدة، إلا أن الحاجة الى تنظيم دولي شامل قائم على مبادئ عالمية، تبقى حاجة أساسية للدول، وستكون دول العالم اكثر ميلاً الى اصلاح الامم المتحدة منها الى انهائها والبدء بشيء جديد.

للمعلومة فإن هذه المكتبة تأسست في العام ١٩٣٤، أي بعد حوالي ١٠ سنوات من تأسيس وزارة الخارجية العراقية عام ١٩٢٤.

@MAShummary سعادة السفير هل تم رقمنة هذه الأعداد القديمة (أو جزء منها) وإتاحتها للباحثين والجمهور عبر الإنترنت؟ وهل هناك خطط مستقبلية في هذا الاتجاه؟

في مكتبة معهد الخدمة الخارجية نحتفظ بأعداد من الوقائع العراقية، الجريدة الرسمية الأولى للدولة العراقية الحديثة، يعود بعضها إلى عام ١٩٢٢، بالاضافة الى العديد من المصادر والوثائق. أوراقٌ تختزن ذاكرة الدولة، نُسلّمها لجيل الدبلوماسيين الجديد، فمن عرف من أين بدأت دولته، أحسنَ تمثيلها. @Iraqimofa
