Fusion energy has entered a new phase, with major technical advancements, growing investments, and concrete national strategies to support the path to deployment.
At @Fusion_Industry’s Annual Policy Conference in Washington DC 🇺🇸 today, I highlighted how this momentum brings both opportunity and complexity, as governments, research institutes, private companies, industry and international organisations come together to shape the future of fusion energy.
Through initiatives like the @IAEAorg’s World Fusion Energy Group, we are creating a global platform where all players come together to address and engage on concrete topics and align efforts on R&D, regulation, financing, supply chain, and workforce development.
With strong cooperation across public and private initiatives, fusion has the potential to become an important part of the global energy system in the years to come and the Agency is here to support every step of the way.
Thanks to @TheAndyHolland, FIA’s CEO, for an excellent event and Sachin Desai, Chair of the FIA's Board of Directors, for the engaging exchange.
