👀 Want to see a preview of what's coming up in #JetpackCompose? We heard you that debugging shared elements is tricky. In 1.11.0-alpha03, a new composable LookaheadAnimationVisualDebugging was added. Wrap SharedTransitionLayout when debugging to add visual debuging! 🐛

Anyone shipping to the Play Store, ever seen crashes in Pre-Launch Reports you can't reproduce locally? Issues that only hit the automated review, but never prod or your own devices. How common is this? Working on something - drop a comment if you've dealt with it. #androiddev

@android_poet Kotlin multiplatform should be used to share business logic between an iOS and android, I don’t understand why you tryb to use it to share UI

Kotlin Multiplatform can bridge things, and you can get the same effect on iOS, but getting the exact same thing on Android is way more difficult

@android_poet The main difference I find is many skia "modules" don't have direct alternatives for all platforms so it's tricky to have similar "behaviour" agsl have some really cool features main of them being able to pass down the content to shader

@android_poet In my experiments even both cmp and compose uses skia under the hood agsl is damn good for achieving these kinds of ui pretty sure main reason for agsl to exist is to implement these kind of ui in system ui in future android versions as android view system is migrating to compose

@JorgeCastilloPr Been playing with shaders on Multiplatform agsl is still the best way to apply shaders for transitions or modifying content

@Zuby_Tech @heyitsyogesh Tbh both samsung and apple could have simply slapped si batteries in their egde and air phone only reason they didn't is cost They knew they won't be selling those devices as same scale as their regular flagships

I'll tweet this later but here's an explanation: Making a point no one has made, regarding Silicon Carbon Batteries: The key reason some Chinese smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi are able to adopt cutting edge technology more aggressively comes down to brand, brand recognition and risk tolerance. If a product launch fails or damages reputation, these companies can quickly pivot by pushing another sister brand into the market often regaining market share in a short time. By contrast, Apple and Samsung Mobile don’t have that same luxury. Apple’s brand & iPhone brand is extremely valuable and tightly controlled end to end, meaning it cannot afford high risk product decisions that could harm consumer trust or quality. Samsung, while diversified across multiple tech industries, also has the globally recognised Galaxy brand a failure at scale could damage it, that it would be extremely costly for it's mobile division. In short, Chinese brands can afford to experiment, use technology that is new, untested long term usage and fail more freely, while Apple and Samsung must protect long term brand & their reputation which naturally makes them more cautious to adopt new technologies. The irony is Samsung makes a Silicon Carbon Batteries just not for Smartphones, yet!

This whole Si/C battery issue after MKBHD's video just shows the lack of cutting edge tech exposure Western reviewers have. They also don't want to acknowledge such innovations and their entire world revolves around Apple, Google or Samsung... Sad state of affairs..
