@MS_Ignite Commodore VIC 20, then 64 until an Apple IIc. The first pc I purchased myself (The others were by parents while I was in school) was a Compaq 80386, I paid to upgrade to 5mb ram and the math co processor.

[Throwback] A year ago today we were getting ready for the infamous #SchdMaintenance party. Given all the events of 2020, I think we could all use some Scheduled Maintenance of our own... In the meantime, we can reminisce on our favorite Scheduled Maintenance memories.

Yes! Weakening encryption or putting in backdoors would cause substantially more harm than good. Systems need to be designed to be metaphysically impossible for anyone other than the user to decrypt data to avoid political pressure.
