@TankMuseum Reggie found that “new car feeling” quickly turned into solitude.

@SiwookHwang @theanujsaraswat we are following protocol from @frantecol mentioned here nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/np… and here sciencedirect.com/science/articl… with some adjustments.

If you wonder why I might be declining those review requests. 👇👇 @theanujsaraswat and I (with students) will soon be collecting root exudates from our barley diversity panel.

⚡️ NEWS! ⚡️
1,000+ scientists and medical professionals call on MPs to listen to the science—back the #CANBill—and secure a liveable future.
The time for stronger, science-led legislation to tackle the climate-nature crisis is now.
This term, this session, this Parliament. 🧵

I’m proud to be one of 1,176 letter co-signatories calling on MPs to back the #CANBill in this week’s private members’ bill ballot. The time for science-led legislation to tackle the climate and nature crises is now

Beware plastic netting in lawn and wildflower turf - advice for anyone starting a new lawn area, shop around and insist on rolls that don't use plastic mesh in them, it is a total nightmare longterm! Also pollutes soil. Pls spread the word... jackwallington.com/beware-plastic…

If you’re doing #nomowmay my recommendation is to do it in areas you can leave long all summer, not just leave for one month and then cut it because this leads to problems with the density of the lawn and also will just kill lots of wildlife using the longer grass come June.

@CatherineJPrice I will now engage whole-heartedly with media representatives who promise article review to scientists for fact-checking
they are few and far between (which in itself is telling)

@MarcRedmile Interesting to know that's what happened. Thank you for sharing.

The first of our social science research articles from @TheBiocharDemo is now out and open access! Biochar in the British print news media: an analysis of promissory discourse and the creation of expectations about carbon removal. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10… @BNerlich @UoNGeography

@DavidatWestons Sorry David, must have made your blood boil seeing those bags in the bottom of the ditch - like a metaphor for humanity at present.
Well, at least if we lose it, we know where it might turn up!
English

@GeorgeMonbiot Poor and very biased article.
Zero mention of fossil fuels and climate in an allegedly “environmental” article.
Burning wood offsets fossil emissions and makes more future lives possible.
Please respect that before attempting to quantify the net impact of PM 2.5 from wood.
English

Let's stop pretending this isn't an issue.
Wood-burning stoves cancel out fall in particulate pollution from roads in UK.

@MarcRedmile @PowlsonDavid @ChiefExecCCC @RachelMillardAS thanks Marc
defer to you here
but fairly certain the current arrangement is really not good for the climate . . .
happy to discuss further and learn from you

UK biofuels policy including with respect to Drax is deeply problematic and requires urgent review: not good for the climate or biodiversity or food security. @ChiefExecCCC @RachelMillardAS
