Despite the busiest winter on record, NHS waiting lists have continued to fall with this Labour Government.

When communities come together, division has no place. Great to visit Colindale Community Centre, where unity and tolerance are at the heart of their work. Yesterday’s publication of Protecting What Matters sets out the first steps toward a more cohesive and resilient UK.

Great to meet representatives from faith communities across Barnet today. Listening to local voices and strengthening community ties is more important than ever.

Government shouldn’t stand by while communities are pulled apart. The Pride in Place Programme will invest up to £20m in 300 of the most held-back communities, putting local people in charge of strengthening their neighbourhoods and bringing people together.

Across the UK, from community halls to famous national landmarks, people are opening their doors and coming together for iftars. It’s a powerful reminder that we are a nation built on tolerance and respect.

We welcomed faith and community leaders from across British society to a major inter-faith iftar at Lancaster House @FCDOGovUK  in London. One of the big themes of Ramadan is bringing people together, and it's wonderful to see that happening.

We stand firmly with the Jewish community and will not tolerate antisemitism or any attempt to divide our communities. I visited @CST_UK to see the extraordinary work of staff and volunteers who help keep British Jewish communities safe.

The UK is home to one of the world’s most diverse Muslim communities, whose contributions continue to shape so much of our shared national life. Celebrating Iftar at Lancaster House last night gave us a moment to pause, to come together across faiths, and to reflect on the things that shape our lives. The values of Ramadan speak to all of us, no matter who we are or what we believe.

We will never return to austerity. Labour chooses investment not cuts to our public services.

Labour is standing up for working people.

We are working with our longstanding friends and allies in collective self-defence. That’s how we protect British interests and British lives.
