at my OB's office, waiting room is full, and a non-pregnant woman WHO MADE EYE CONTACT WITH ME MULTIPLE TIMES has not given up her seat so i can sit 🫩 society is broken

@sunfwrpwr I think that it sounds as if your doc is worried he may need to induce if BP goes up again. And the sweeping of the membranes when successful needs less medical intervention when inducing with other means at 39 weeks.

I need thoughts on membrane sweeps. My OB suggested to do it at 38 weeks and I told her I was going to do some research.

@kurks91 Oh yeah, definitely girl teachers vs boy teachers too.Some teachers are creative with great projects but those projects really resonate more with girls than boys.And they don’t seem to realize it. You need to find out who not just the best teachers are but the best BOY teachers

Yesterday, I was talking to a parent that said her son struggled in class because of the aesthetic. She said he was sad that it was all “girl” stuff on the walls and he didn’t resonate or connect to things in his class. Interesting perspective that got me thinking 🤔

@ProLifeLiz Depends on what kind of parent you are or want to be.That age will often fall asleep no matter what.May stay up a bit later but can pass out easily in a back carrier.There are hats,sunscreen, & bug spray.Go to the outdoor concerts,or don’t and let your fears rule your summer

I’ll probably get dragged for this but how do I have fun in the summer with a 14mo when I am afraid he will get too hot or sunburned or get eaten by bugs. And also he goes to bed at 7:30. And also we can’t afford babysitters. I want to have a good summer but i need tips pls

I’m so tired of catching strays about my pregnancy & lifestyle choices from family members who I know will not make an effort to have a relationship w my baby. Aunt's "wife" asked my mom if she was gonna be babysitter & she said "idk since anna will be staying home"

I recently spent quite a big amount on 3 kids. I don’t know if anyone remembers me talking last year about how at birthdays my friend wants all her kids to get gifts. Anyway, she made a registry, and it got pretty expensive. Not to mention the party was over an hour away, up a mountain. We got fevers and couldn’t go at the last minute, but she told me we are the only people who used the registry. She asked me to. So, I did. I guess I’m the only one who fell for that. It was fine, though, because some parents are hard to please. I don’t think it’s the kids.

@SketchesbyBoze Some are. And some have it pushed on them and think they hate reading only to find out (hopefully find out) they love to read but hate most of the “classics”.

I get yelled at for saying this but children enjoy a challenge and it's good for them to read books that are a bit difficult. In my experience, adults are the ones trying to keep them from classics while the kids are aching to read Homer, Jane Austen and Jane Eyre.

Or I can stay a couple of hours if you want to sleep, I can hold the baby! If none of that is needed. I don’t even need in!

@gentiletrades If you visiting a new baby, tell momma that you can stay for xyz, what can I do for you? Encourage her to go shower while you watch the baby. Or have her sit in the kitchen, while you chat and wash her dishes. Or tell her to have some laundry in the dryer so you can fold it +

If you are visiting a friend/family member who just had a baby, remember that everybody makes a casserole. Bring literally anything else.

Minnesota is ok but they have benefitted from a weak schedule. They have lost to the good teams they play. Portland is unathletic white girls

@ad_2083 @HunchoGambles 😂that’s because compared to Portland the are only playing once a week! 16 games Portland has played. Mystics has played 12. No one has played 16 games except Portland. And those in top 9 have not played more than 14. Some 13.

@HunchoGambles They have by far the worst scheduling ever. Way too much time in between games. As a Mystics fan, it seems like they only play 1 game a week which is absurd.

WNBA is a growing league that needs to fix so many things but first thing first is the scheduling. There’s ZERO reason why there should be 1 game on Tuesday then 6 games on Wednesday. With 3 of them starting at the EXACT SAME TIME !!!!!! Then again only 1 game on Thursday.

@thecavemommy @RobinRene81 Car seats expire?!!!But I have to take all the recommendations with a grain of salt. My kids, I was told they need to sleep on stomach for SIDS protection. And for an extremely brief moment, ‘89-‘91 time co sleeping was as well because the breathing of parent helps newborns.

Why is the age of 1 specifically the set recommendation for giving the baby a blanket to sleep with I feel like a big 8 month old baby that’s extremely mobile (crawling, sitting up, standing) and practically walking can probably have a blanket idk

Taught the 8 & 9 year olds how to load the dishwasher correctly today. Taught them laundry a couple days ago and this morning had my 8yo son start a load while I was feeding the baby.
