Got this Juki LK-1854 bar tack but it has a 3 phase motor on it and I need to plug this bad boy into a regular outlet. From what I read I have two options. Either get a converter which sounded sketchy and not a for sure fix. Or I can replace the motor with a servo motor which I have done in the past with a different machine. Problem is that machine wasn’t a bartack automated style stitching machine. I’m not sure if a servo motor would work the same on this machine as the original clutch motor would normally. I guess I need to talk to an expert prolly but I scored this thing at a crazy $50 deal! The guy had atleast 20 of just these machines.
Was in a warehouse in northern Arkansas that used to make gloves and jackets. There were soo many machines it was crazy walking around there. The owner didn’t seem to care to talk much about the history or stuff since it appeared he was closing down and selling everything so I didn’t pry much just told him thank you for everything and made my way out.

you would definitely benefit from a walking foot/triple feed machine. i'm sure your wife will understand... (i'm in the same boat with my husband)

I actually do have these Berninas (and a *vintage* singer, and a serger, whatever that is) that we inherited from my wife's grandmother. I haven't had a chance to use either beyond turning them on, but the opinion online is very positive. I can already tell I'll have 10x the control.

k i bought it. heard it can be pretty dicey out of the package. if u get lucky enough to not get a broken one, you gotta do a lot of modding & fixing up to get it working properly . fingers crossed 🤞

i think i may have found a solution to my leather sewing problem - the problem of not being able to sew leather purses, wallets, belts, pants, jackets and shoes all on the same machine a manual, hand-cranked leather cobbler machine made for leather shoe repairs. can sew through very thick leather but with some setting adjustments can sew through thinner leathers as well ^-^ very simple to use and a high level of control due to the manual nature of the machine

tomorrow toddler is with me so we are taking a trip to the fabric store to buy some lace and ribbon to decorate her a bit!! ۶ৎ ♡

cording progress: 4/10 pieces done cording is the process of taking small cord and sandwiching it between 2 pieces of fabric to create these little channels. adds structure and visual interest ^-^
