The Mimi DiPietro Family Skating Center in Patterson Park will be getting a $500k grant from the state of Maryland, Senate President Bill Ferguson announced It's a godsend for the Baltimore Banners, a youth hockey team that draws kids from low-income neighborhoods 🏒 buff.ly/XKfLFIi

The Mimi DiPietro ice rink in Patterson Park is more than just a place to skate. It’s a space where thousands of Baltimore families make memories and our young people discover themselves through organizations like the @BMoreBanners. Its closure is an unacceptable outcome, which is why I was so proud to announce today that Team46 secured $500,000 in State funds to hopefully save the rink for another 5 to 10 years. I’m immensely grateful to Delegates @LukeClippinger, Lewis, and @ElectEdelson, along with Councilman @1stDistrictMark, Council President @Zeke_Cohen, and @MayorBMScott for their partnership working towards this solution as we identify a path towards the rinks’ long-term viability for generations of Baltimoreans to come.

Each year, I have the opportunity to work with @SenBillFerg, @LukeClippinger, & @RobbynLewis46th to bring money back to our district through legislative bond initiatives.  I have filed my LBIs and am looking forward to fighting for projects all across the beautiful 46th district.

Passing the Transportation and Climate Alignment (TCA) is critical to give Marylanders more transportation choices, help reduce transportation costs, and cut air pollution. We have a lot of good stuff cooking this Session!

We have 90 Days to pass every law MD needs for 2026.  While there are many competing areas of focus, I am always going to prioritize small businesses.  This bill will authorize Baltimore City to provide tax credits to commercial buildings that lease space to small businesses.

This Black History Month, the Edelson Team would like to take a moment to honor the accomplishments of Black Americans. Each week, a member of the office has chosen someone that inspires them. This week, our Legislative Intern, Theresa, has chosen Claudette Colvin.

Today, I was proud to support the bipartisan passage of HB 1, the Protecting Energy Consumers from Paying for Utility CEO Bonuses Act. Ratepayers should not be on the hook for excessive CEO compensation and this was a crucial first step in delivering results for Marylanders.

After hours in voting sessions, I was overjoyed to join so many attendees at the Rally for Major League Transit. Despite the frigid temps, we showed up to make clear that transit funding must be a priority this Legislative Session. We must fund the Bmore Bus Plan!
