@alexriesart looking at what happened to watches after quartz, the swiss indsutry shrank by 80% but focussed on bespoke, low availabilty, exclusivity, workmanship, human story and artistry, and is now quite a big industry, 20bn or so in switzerland and germany... so maybe something like that
