Watch therapeutic use of cannabis amongst 50+ age cohorts explode post rescheduling to 3. -Trump announces it (meaning everyone now knows-Trump creates more widely viewed news) -even in legal states, fed illegality affects mindset -now doctors can more freely recommend

Wouldn't more accurate description of rescheduling effects be "End of overtaxation through one arcane tax provision" or "End of Punitive Taxation" than "tax break". But agreed that folks may not realize how much cash this sucks out of canna cos annually.

@MitchellOsak @jesseredmond Maybe if an ETF didn't hold derivatives that get massively shorted against than stock prices would have held up better which would have helped capital access, which would have helped......everything. Not the only cause. But a major issue on the pubco side.

Happy anniversary! Four years ago today, $MSOS peaked at $55.91. Since then, it's lost over 93% in the worst bear market I've seen in magnitude and duration. I like ending these posts with something positive, but I'm struggling. This may mean I am deep in the trough of disillusionment, and the slope of enlightenment is approaching. There, I did it; that was kinda positive.

@TheDankInformer @winloseandwin Non presidential election years typically mean higher percentage of single issue voters or more hard-core politics. Probably bodes well for cannabis due to near miss in 24. But obviously optimism is frowned upon in our space rn.

@aaronvalue Prices were outrageous and have come down but still a long way to go. No prerolls should have been fixed in 2024. Selling in 10ths is the icing. That said, the anticipated rev was unrealistic. Cultivators had enough funded capacity to meet the AU demand without expanding.

FWIW, I’m hearing that Ohio is turning out to be a disappointing cannabis adult market. Prices are too high, high quality flower is in short supply and Ohio is competing with inexpensive, high quality flower from Michigan. Limited access as well.

@JDerevyanny @aaronvalue Eventually these moments lead to bigger things and bigger in state numbers. With stocks trading near lows, shifts like this would jog sone of the apathy/inertia. Whether they will or not is a different question.

@JDerevyanny @aaronvalue Not sure how closely you read our historical analysis, but we have been talking about these smaller normalization milestones for yrs. NJ leads on workers comp adoption of mj, has well settled law forcing insurers to reimburse and is one of the insurance leaders of the US.

Stocks of cos in NJ should be up 100% on this news. But...crickets.

@JDerevyanny @aaronvalue It's about the government getting more supportive, which drives behavior that 💯 drives legal sales from the unregulated market. Not sure how low prices even relates to the point we made.

@MeridaCap @aaronvalue But we have ten years of data on mature cannabis markets with very low prices. Usage has not exploded. Going to a doctor to get a scrip to give you weed doesn’t drive stock prices MORE than price compression should
