@kjr247 The most common misuse I see is the rigid application of things that were meant to be gentle advice. Yes, we should remove duplication, but not all duplication should be removed. Yes, we should follow TDD; but there are times when TDD breaks down. Etc.

@KentBeck TDD is one of the very subjective things that you don't understand its benefits without practicing it for some time. It took me 4* month of constant practice to understand how TDD had improved my programming process. * 4 months, 3 of which I spent learning it

@unclebobmartin I understand the point for one-arg or in general for as few args as possible. However zero-args implies side-effects and mutability and then a code smell. Bad even under a pedagogical point of view.

Can anybody explain @unclebobmartin's sentence saying that "The ideal numbers of arguments for a function is zero (niladic)"? In other words, according to him the perfect function is the one that either does nothing or just produces side-effects? 🤔
