Eeee absolutely over the moon that I’ve been offered a permanent position for a class teacher job!! At such a lovely school too 🥺🥳🥳

Has anyone in EYFS ever done the Magic Toymaker topic before? I’m completely stuck with where to even begin with planning for it 😵‍💫

My classroom has lots of brightly coloured tables- I’m wanting to change it to be more natural so wondering what I could do? Thinking along the lines of tablecloths or wrapping them?

@JMAedu I’m around quite a lot of schools but I know things are a bit tough at the minute for supply, we hardly ever have them in at my current school

@MissPhillipsFS1 It depends where you live really. For me, I averaged about 3 days a week. Because I lived in a small town about 20 miles from the nearest city, I struggled. There only 4 schools within a 10 mile radius really. So depends largely.

Teachers who have done supply- what is the work like? Is it regular/enough to live off still?

@MissCWaudby Didn’t even think about no pay in the holidays! That must be tough!

@MissPhillipsFS1 I’ve had regular work, mostly 5 days a week where I was available. Holidays are hard without pay but depends if you can budget for it/circumstances.

@thatteacherguy_ Never thought about that- did you find that there was always plenty of work?

@MissPhillipsFS1 I worked every single day I was available - 5 days a week. No way could I have lived off it though as there’s no pay during the holidays. Summer break especially made it impossible.

£8.50 charity shop haul! Some for me, some for my Y6 classroom! Bargain.

What sort of jobs do people do after teaching? Really don’t feel this is for me and the stress and anxiety isn’t worth it, but I don’t know where to go from here

Yesterday I helped out at gardening club- a girl was flicking soil and it was landing on my feet (lovely day so in sandals), I say ‘careful you’re getting soil on my feet, her reply … ‘maybe if you knew you were doing gardening club you should have worn more suitable shoes’ 🫠🫡

Had a teddy bears picnic today- children all brought their bears in, we hid them in the trees, had a bear hunt, sang songs, ate food… a really lovely time for us as staff as well as the children ❤️

Is there anyone out there that can help me with Little Big Maths for Nursery? I’ve been told to plan a week of 10 min sessions but have no guidance and I just don’t get what I’m supposed to do #edutwitter

@MissClarke_EHU 2 years in and I still feel like this more or less every day! I’ve come to the conclusion I’m not as organised as I always thought!

I am loving my placement a lot but I'm just really feeling like I'm not good enough - everything I'm doing feels so disorganised even if I've put so much work into it and planned it out it feels like I haven't and I feel so not put together! I don't get it!!!

Desperate for some nice teacher clothes. I tend to wear lots of dresses because they’re comfy.. ideas please!

At my previous school my judgement was trusted 100%, my data was never changed by people that don’t even know the children. Yet now I can’t seem to get it right 😵‍💫

Feeling deflated after pupil progress meeting… what do you want from me? Accurate data, data that looks good, data that shows every child has made progress when they haven’t? Why can’t my judgement just be trusted?

@Missevans23 @MrTs_NQTs Think about inclusivity, relationships with parents, how you would incorporate your interests (after school clubs), there will always be a safeguarding question, and make sure you give examples of what you’ve done/would do for each answer! x

So now I’ve tested negative after having Covid I feel rubbish. Headache, sore throat, head cold. It seems I’m getting the symptoms now instead 🤷🏼‍♀️
