The woke concent detector list is crazy. Imagine missing on so many good games because anti-woke grifters melted your brain.

Just so we are clear: Tolkien did believe in evil. What he didn't believe in was pure evil.

@MorgothArc @LaoziNabu @ToIkienverse @PlatinumEquinox @TheRingsofPower Just so we're clear. Tolkien did believe in evil. He didn't believe things started Evil. But he most certainly believed in evil/corruption. He left it as a possibility of orcs becoming uncorrupted in an offhand sort of way. If pressed, the probability approached zero.

@MorgothArc @MrHumpty_ @ToIkienverse @PlatinumEquinox @TheRingsofPower Jeez all you people know how to do is gaslight, even with I concede a small bit of ground and attempt to argue in good faith. This all started because of the depiction of a war weary orc embracing his family in a bad adaptation, unless you are saying that didn’t happen?

@MorgothArc @MrHumpty_ @ToIkienverse @PlatinumEquinox @TheRingsofPower I’m not disagreeing with you. I’m saying it’s more complex and nuanced than pure good vs evil. That would be grossly oversimplifying the professors works. I’m also pointing out that there are moral “good” characters that you can sympathize for that aren’t orcs and Sauron.

@MorgothArc @MrHumpty_ @ToIkienverse @PlatinumEquinox @TheRingsofPower He wouldn’t even say Sauron was irredeemably bad though, because he started his story off with a fall from good(Morgoth) obviously an allegory of Lucifer. Still you can draw clear moral lines, and to liken Sauron and Orcs with Elves and men is grossly oversimplifying his work.

@MorgothArc @MrHumpty_ @ToIkienverse @PlatinumEquinox @TheRingsofPower He used irredeemably bad not “pure evil”. It he also said they didn’t have much choice because Melkor/Morgoth perverted elves to because Orcs because he couldn’t create. That being said he did say they were capable of good, but even so after Sauron elessar still had to kill them.
