You have to sign up for Medicare every year, fyi. Supplemental is supposed to cover for what Medicare won’t. It is taken out of your SS check. My mother (mistakenly) did not renew her Plan B and it’s been over 3 years and they still have not put her back on it. (long story, been to SS office with her, etc) Plan A covers hospital but Plan B covers doctors and medical expenses. If you tell a medical facility you don’t have ins they will charge you discounted cash rate. She had to get a chest xray and I explained that she does not have Plan B. They charged her $19. She is 81 years old.

Do you have to get it? Can the government force you to get it?
I haven’t had any health insurance since Barry Soetoro was president.
I’ve been self paying all my own medical expenses from my own pocket for over 15 years. Why should I have to start paying for something now that I don’t want?
Can anyone explain this to me like I’m five?
