I think as writers, we should do our due diligence of understanding and knowing the fundamentals of a character before we attempt to write anything about them or involving them. The fact that there is something that is written as dubcon/noncon about a character whose entire being centres around consent and the freedom of choice, is astounding. You write about him exactly the way he is constantly mischaracterised so you can farm engagement and garner attention because you know his popularity within this fandom space. You write some stupid angst piece after and joke about ‘aftercare’ as if that’s not a fundamental basic in any sexual relation. On top of that, to write that sort of thing with little to no regard for people who have him as a comfort character, who are triggered by that content, because you can’t be fucked to tag correctly just shows how arrogant you are. I honestly cannot believe you thought it was a good idea to not only post that, but to leave it up despite the backlash and then to make light of aftercare like it’s optional.
