One day, a woman came crying to Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام).
He asked her: “Why are you crying?”
She replied: “My son has died, and he was still very young!” Prophet Nuh asked: “How old was he?”
She said: “He was only 450 years old.” (At that time, people lived for many hundreds of years, so 450 was considered a short life / dying young.)
Prophet Nuh (عليه السلام) then told her (to console her and as a prophecy):
“There will come an Ummah (nation) whose lifespan will be very short — only around 60 to 70 years.”
The woman replied:
“If I were from that Ummah, I would spend my entire short life in constant prostration (sujud) to Allah, never raising my head from prayer.”
