I think it's less about accuracy and more about what looks good. This looks like a college football mascot/batman. It won't keep me from enjoying the movie but the filmmakers would've achieved something more visually interesting by adapting some ideas from the historical armor

Tbh not sure why I was supposed to hate this. It accomplishes a much for the story. Eleven's powers are expanded in a way she'll need for the end, she's shown what living for revenge looks like, and by rejecting this life she has a more firm vision of who she's deciding to be
