This evening we will be in Allen County for our annual storm spotter and safety presentation. The talk will be held in Iola, at the Creitz Recital Hall in the Bowlus Basement. The presentation starts at 6:30pm and is open to anyone who has an interest in severe weather! #kswx

Mostly cloudy and cooler conditions are expected today, then a warming trend will take place through Thursday. Mostly sunny and dry conditions are expected with highs reaching into the 90s by Wednesday and Thursday. #KSwx

Winds will gradually decrease this evening into tonight, and overnight lows will range from the mid 30s to the low 40s.

On this date back in 2016, what would become known as the Anderson Creek Fire started burning across parts of Barber County. This large grass fire burned over 400,000 acres. Dense smoke and ash made it as far east as Wichita. Additional info: weather.gov/ict/0323_grass… #kswx

@JaydonShawwx We use the COOP site for unofficial records in El Dorado. However, the COOP site also recorded a high of 97 which appears to not only be a daily record high, but also an all time record high for the month of March. Records (albeit somewhat incomplete) go back to 1893.

A cold front will sweep across the state today bringing strong northerly winds and cooler temperatures. Look for wind gusts between 40-50 mph later this morning and through the afternoon. #KSwx

Near normal temperatures are expected to start and end the week, but very warm conditions and elevated fire danger will be seen through the middle part of the week with continued dry conditions. #KSwx

Record highs for March 21st were set across the region today, due to temperatures 30 to 35 degrees above average. These readings were also the warmest March temperatures on record for these sites (although Chanute tied). #kswx

A warming trend is forecast for next week as the week will start in the 60s on Monday and then temperatures will continue rising into the 80s by Wednesday. #KSwx

Cooler temperatures are forecast for Sunday after a cold front moves through the area. A Wind Advisory is in effect on Sunday as northerly winds will gust up to 40-50 mph across the area. Make sure to secure loose outdoor items as lightweight objects can be blown around. #kswx
