During my time investigating and documenting the migrant crisis, I started digging deep into what was really happening inside many of these hotels and shelters. The more questions I asked, the more people started telling me to stop. Some warned I was bringing too much heat and attention to these locations. One person even told me straight up: “You’re f***** with their money, Leroy.”* But what I uncovered would make any grown man sick to his stomach. Staff members at several of these locations quietly told me that kids were being raped and trafficked by cartel-connected individuals. Gangs were allegedly operating right out of the hotels, running their operations in and around these shelters. According to staff members, layers of procedures and internal rules were put in place that seemed designed to keep incidents quiet and prevent information from getting out. Reports were discouraged, situations were handled internally, and many things that should have been exposed were buried under policy and bureaucracy. Some of the things I exposed were later verified by the federal government, and arrests were made. But some of the stuff I reported on still haunt me to this day — there are nights I can’t sleep thinking about it. What makes it worse is that some of the people I thought were supposed to fix these problems actually played a huge part in covering up what was happening. All for money. Because of my reporting, a lot of doors closed for me. Opportunities I could have had — big ones, career moves, connections, even access to platforms — vanished simply because I chose to do the right thing instead of staying silent. I lost a lot, and it stings, but I’ve never regretted it for a second. But here’s the thing — I have morals, and I don’t care about the consequences when it comes to that. What I did and what I reported on wasn’t for me. It wasn’t for clout, attention, or favors. It was about exposing what was happening and hopefully saving lives — especially the lives of children who were allegedly being trafficked. For me, this has always been about morals. Not about clout. Not about who can offer me something. I would never take dirty money in my life. By @LeeroyPress @StephenM @MargoMartin47

If at least 26 billionaires can waste at least $27 million trying to defeat Zohran Mamdani, then those same billionaires can afford to pay an extra 2% on their income over $1 million to make New York a better, thriving city for everyone — including themselves.

@NowQueens @TeamYouTube Since you are a journalist you can tell some medias or like post about and put some pressure on youtube, say their automated bot has problems and terminated multiple innocent youtube channels, you can send it to some famous news articles, if you did be sure to mention our channel

Today is the day we're launching our pilot program to give some previously terminated creators a chance to rejoin YouTube. We know there's a lot of interest and questions – key points below: * What’s happening? Starting today, some previously terminated creators will have the opportunity to request a new YouTube channel. Not every eligible creator will have the option to request a new channel right away – we’re rolling this out slowly as we carefully review requests and learn from the pilot. * What does a new channel mean? Creators accepted through this pilot can create new channels. A new channel means a fresh start – creators can build back their community, upload old content (that follows our Community Guidelines), and apply for YPP once their new channel is eligible. * How will YouTube review requests? We'll consider a variety of factors like the severity or persistence of the original violations, or whether a creator’s on- or off-platform activity harmed or may continue to harm the YouTube community. * Who isn’t eligible? Terminated creators are not eligible to request a new channel until one year after their termination date. Also, not every type of channel termination will be eligible for this pilot. For example, creators terminated for copyright infringement or those who violated our Creator Responsibility policies. * What about appeals? Creators can still appeal if they want our team to take another look at their original channel termination. This option is available for one year after a termination. * Important Reminder: Our Community Guidelines and other policies still apply, and creators will not have another opportunity to return to YouTube if they are terminated again. We’re looking forward to providing an opportunity for creators to start fresh and bring their voice back to YouTube. More details → yt.be/help/AfDAs
