Millennial here, so I missed the full 1970s free-range childhood era, but I grew up close enough to catch the tail end of it before childhood turned into helmets, tracking apps, and everybody texting “here” from the driveway. There really was a narrow window where kids were outside for hours, parents had a rough idea of your location instead of a live map, and “come home when the streetlights come on” still made perfect sense. A lot of people miss the lack of screens, but I think what they really miss is how much unsupervised ordinary life kids used to have.

@ingelramdecoucy I have been waking up between 4-4:30 for months and go to bed at around 8. I’ve stopped eating after 6 so I’m not full belly at bed time. There have been times that I underestimated the cook time for dinner which meant eating later and I hate it when that happens.

I’ve always aimed to eat dinner ~6-6:30, eating later than that seems insane to me. I know people who eat dinner at 8:00 or even 9:00 and consider I them to be basically barbarians

@9mmsmg Don’t forget the feeders. There are people turned on by supporting these people to eat. It’s really gross!

The thing is, she's not lying. She's actively giving her life for chicken biscuits. We criticize addicts of all kinds. People actively encourage them to get clean. When you're eating yourself to death, you're embraced by the body positivity and fat acceptance movement. Imagine a "Healthy while on heroin" movement? Not much different than "Healthy at any size." It's just seen as uncouth to tell Susan from HR she's going to have a heart attack from being 350 lbs any day. If she was shooting heroin, it'd be a different story. GLPs fix this, btw.

SNAP stands for Supplemental NUTRITION Assistance Program. Candy and soda are, by definition, not nutritional. Therefore, SNAP recipients can pay for Skittles and Fanta themselves with their own money, not mine. If you want to find stupid, look in the mirror, fart biscuit.

@9mmsmg I used to hate the taste of Greek yogurt. I tried it again and I surprisingly enjoyed it. That’s what I buy now. Coconut water can go to hell cause I keep trying it and it’s just awful.

@SydneyLWatson I had a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst rupture about 10 years ago and it was the worst pain! I went to the ER because I didn’t know what it was but, I still went to work that morning to start payroll. Couldn’t sleep laying down that night so slept on the couch. Husband joined me 🥰.

We do a little internal bleeding on Friday nights now. 💅
