The same street, 70 years apart. Hale Road, Walton, Liverpool. It looked immaculate in the 1950s compared to today. Why did people stop caring about their communities?

@jinijane_ Even without the AI photos involved, the statement itself makes her someone I would have to rethink electing.

My high school neighbourhood just elected a local 59yo councilwoman who campaigned in the local paper with an AI photo. Her statement: ‘I used an internet program to enhance the image because the resolution of the photo was bad. It’s simply my photo, that really is me. I use medication that’s why I look a bit different now. But yes, I do look much younger than my age. When I’m out with my son people think I’m his girlfriend. I hear that I look super young for my age all the time.’

@WilliamShatner This, writers used to use sci fi to sneak in politics by making aliens have the same issues as we do because of the censor.

🙄 No, Star Trek was about society’s social issues of the 1960’s. Those issues over the years may have become political issues but with the network censors: they never would have allowed political issue storylines to air. It’s sad to see how uninformed some are about the past.
Eric Mrozek 🇺🇸🦅🌎⚛️🧦🗽✍🏻@EricMMrozek

That is an absurd thing for someone like @WilliamShatner to say. The original Star Trek was INCREDIBLY political even by the standards of its time. The main difference between it and most sci-fi properties, though, is that its progressivism is universalist in nature.

I just got a fine in the post because my teenage daughter had the seatbelt under her arm. $2115 It's not a fine that she wasn't wearing her seatbelt, it's that she didn't wear it right. Just a camera sitting there to watch our every move and raise revenue for the government. It was probably during the time we were singing John Farnhams "2 strong hearts". We love that song, we sing it loud and proud, until the part about the river to the wet large section of water that connects continents. We would never sing that part government, because that's banned too. $2115 for this. Honestl7 #AustralianOil #auspol

@HazelAppleyard This is also why she calls boyfriend, the idea of sex with female makes so uncomfortable she wants boyfriend there If this was a male at birth oriented to women, she would be so scared she wouldn't let it happen 6 times. That alone tells you it's emotional disgust less fear

@fandompulse So many sco fi stories he could read or watch about civilizations ending themselves because they weren't ready for the technology given to them by an alien race. Wasn't it even in enterprise, which made them create it?

Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Beltran on how the Prime Directive is ridiculous: "The idea of leaving any species to die in its own filth when you have the ability to help them, just because you wanna let them get through their normal evolutionary processes is bunk -- it's a bunch of fascist crap. I much prefer the Cub Scout motto." Is he correct?

@JohntheBapt1ser @17_seanti @uncledoomer This is how my girlfriend feels. I don't care if it sounds odd or childish tho. I've been aware of it being used interchangeably for years, but to me it just rings of a cowboy saying howdy pardner.

@17_seanti @uncledoomer I dunno. When you get over a certain age saying boyfriend or girlfriend sounds a bit odd and childish. Imagine a 55 year old man calling a 55 year old his girlfriend.

how is this insane cope?? this person got an operation that they wanted to get, and they're happy with it. the only person coping here seems to be you, because you can't stand when people live in a way you disapprove of, and still have a good time doing it.

Look at this “pronouned” soft shit! 🤡🤡🤡 He’s never stood up to anyone or anything in his live but has watched social media and been indoctrinated by his uni into believing he has fight and standing.😊😊 I doubt he would win an argument with his sister and here he/him/they is, cameras all around, a non-aggressive chap asking questions thinking he’s got a bit of steel.🤡🤡 The quiet lads at school now think they packing, wa$nker.

Anyone who celebrates this is reprehensible and vindictive This girl found her place and her people and it’s just being snatched away from her For reasons she didn’t create. Because grown adults she doesn’t know hate her for no reason That’s a brutal thing for a child to carry

A renew Star Trek: Starfleet Academy petition has been created. "We urge Paramount to listen to the voices of millions of fans who are yearning for more adventures in the Starfleet Academy. Renewing the show for a third season is not just a business decision; it's about continuing a legacy, honouring storytelling, and nurturing a global community of Trekkers." It only has 16,291 signatures so far. Do you think the petition will even hit 100,000 signatures let alone at least a million?
