This is what the University of Houston president and many in academics emphasized years ago when I was there. Athletic success increases prestige. It increases your reach, interest, and name recognition. Often, leading to better students and a boost in alumni donations.

The post game handshake for anyone over the age of 11 should be abolished. Nothing but trouble. Head coaches can shake hands, players who know each other can exchange pleasantries. Everyone else head to your lockeroom/cars/postgame breakdown with your coach

That $23M in fees ($18m to the MAC, $5m to the NCAA) is 52.4% of Sac State’s annual Athletic Department budget. And 316% of their annual Football budget. It’ll take around 12 years of media rights to pay that off. Idiotic.

Sources: The MAC has voted to formally add FCS Sacramento State into the league as a football-only member starting in 2026. The cost of entrance is expected to be $18 million and a deal is expected to be announced in the upcoming days.

I’ve watched alot of college lax over the last few days. There’s absolutely no reason P5 schools can’t get a scroebug up with a clock on it. We were doing that 10+ years ago from worse facilities and a tricaster. Forget about the amount of students and re$ources at these schools
