@robinshill105 @peekaboo_jen They are older in the books. The show would be very organic if it went on 5 more years. The book wraps up with Claire in her 60's. And Jemmy growing up, having his own storyline. Mandy too.

@peekaboo_jen @OutlanderHome Exactly. Diana hasnt finished and whenever she does finish, if it IS the end, it will be a year in editing and publishing. Besides Sam &Cait, there are Richard, Sophie, David, John etc to think about. They can't all be frozen in time like Dragonflies in Amber waiting for Diana.

I'm still trying to figure out why they couldn't do 8 episodes in season 8 and add one more season of 6 episodes, to wait for the real ending of Diana's last book. We are entitled to all the explanations of season 1, that included many time travel questions, ghosts, Mstr Raymond!

I am still wondering why they needed the ridiculous storyline of Fanny being Faith's daughter and therefore Jamie's granddaughter. She was already a part of his family because he had decided so. He loves her and he will always protect her. That is who Jamie is. After all, we've seen it time and time again. "You have my name and my family, my clan, and if necessary, the protection of my body as well." "His name is Fergus Claudel Fraser." After all these years I still don't think that the writers truly understand Jamie and who he is as a character.

The way his eyebrows take on a completely different personality when he is doing his Lord John accent is hilarious.
Love this guy.
I wish his books were the spinoff series that we were given.
It would have been such an interesting journey and based on canon storylines.

In the books, people feared Jamie Fraser. Yes, there is a loyalist troupe who expected him to be gone from Fraser's Ridge, but they were sneaky because men respected Jamie. His very presence made men back up! No way, he would have been shown the door on his own land by a Tory!
