I don't think so. I think the cast were ready to move on and that was irrespective of BoMB. I think what BoMB has done is take away what should have been a final season focused on the brilliance of what Outlander was. The made up stories within BoMB had people trying to cross reference plot points in Outlander. This was never going to work because: 1. The whole premise of Claire's parents alive is different. In Outlander they died. 2. Jamie's parents have their own, beautiful love story in Outlander. This has been changed in BoMB. 3. All the side characters in Outlander now have different experiences in BoMB because of these changes. So. We have people potentially seeing Outlander as a different story than what it is, because BoMB has attempted to weave a new premise and storyline into a pre-existing one. To me, this is unfair. Outlander is the original story. Matt Roberts has taken the feelings we have about Outlander and high jacked them. He has used these feelings to try and create an attachment to BoMB. I feel sorry for people who will watch BoMB first then and then watch Outlander. They will see the BoMB storylines and parallels stolen from Outlander and assume that they were first. They weren't. They aren't even original. They are taken from Jamie and Claire. To me, that is what has ruined it all. To me, that is why Outlander should have been allowed to have its final season in peace. Away from the noise of BoMB. We, the fans, should have been allowed to say goodbye to Outlander without this worry and speculation about how Matt was somehow going to tie it into BoMB, aka the Fanny discourse. BoMB should have been released after Outlander season 8 screened. But. They didn't do that. They used the final droughtlander to try and manipulate people to watch BoMB. To use the fact that we were craving anything Outlander-related. I think it backfired. I think BoMB would have been accepted better had they waited. But. They didn't. I for one will never watch it. Because of these reasons. And, the fact that I think it is a ridiculous premise to have Claire's parents live and time travel and become friends with Jamie's parents. Claire is who she is because of this loss that she experienced at such a young age. She sometimes struggles with emotional attachment and literacy because of this. Jamie is who he is because of his parents. He loves how he does because they taught him how. BoMB takes that away. And, I think it's a mistake to do so. Apologies for the rant.
