Sin embargo, respondieron siempre con valentía, con determinación y con un profundo sentido de propósito que hoy nos llena de orgullo. Hoy firmé la Orden Ejecutiva 2026-019 para fortalecer la Comisión de Puerto Rico para la Conmemoración del 250 aniversario de los Estados Unidos, una celebración histórica que nos permite resaltar nuestras contribuciones a la nación. 🇺🇸🇵🇷 Today, I signed Executive Order 2026-019 to strengthen the Puerto Rico Commission for the Commemoration of the 250th Anniversary of the United States (America250), a historic celebration that allows us to highlight our contributions to the nation. 🔗 250americapr.org

Her unwavering commitment has been instrumental in opening doors and creating new opportunities for Puerto Rico. — Gracias a mi amiga Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, primera mujer hispana elegida al Congreso de los Estados Unidos, por siempre decir presente y respaldar con firmeza los proyectos que impulsan y adelantan las causas de Puerto Rico como la estadidad . I support PR statehood. 🇺🇸 🇵🇷 In 2022, I helped lead the charge to pass the historic PR Status act out of the House. This was the first time a binding status bill passed either chamber in US history. I plan to support a bill that protects the right to vote for statehood. Sadly most House Republicans hate PR Statehood so I don’t expect any bill to move this Congress. Next Congress when the Democrats take over the House, we will have a real shot to pass another PR Status bill. In the El Nuevo Dia article, I referenced potential negotiations we will face ahead, especially since the Island elected a new Resident Commissioner. We also have some Democratic members who support Independence.
