Valenty's knowledge of chemistry can be connected back to her time as a graduate student. Her love for Penn State comes in the form of an officially licensed partnership between her alma mater and Dazzle Dry — three colors based on Penn State's signature blue and white.

Vivian Valenty, a 1971 Eberly College of Science chemistry alumna and founder of VB Cosmetics, Inc., credits her understanding of chemistry in creating her award-winning Dazzle Dry nail polish and solving many issues with traditional nail polish.

The polymer capacitor is the component in electronics that holds its power and is used in devices such as medical defibrillators. This issue — current state-of-the-art polymer capacitors cannot survive beyond 212 degrees Fahrenheit.
