They don't cheer for prosumer tools behind a paywall. Cardboard is built for creators / founders / marketing teams. It's not a dev tool and it's definitely not free! Then why/how did it work? - Zero marketing fluff: we put an honest technical write up about what we built and why. - Fast, thoughtful replies: we treated it like a user interview, not a launch and replied to every comment. - Care: we made a customized demo experience so that HN audience can try without signup / payment. - No fake accounts or friends pushing the post.
