I watched the entire interview between Ezra Klein and Coates - and my takeaway is that Coates has no desire in any way to see republicans as humans or have any bipartisanship. It’s he who actually comes off as a hate monger. I also felt bad for Klein who just seems completely and utterly lost within his party.
