Rare aesthetic: Building the Nant Gwernol extension 😮💨
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the extension's opening!

@killdane1 >600 tons
I can never help but laugh whenever 'big' British engines' tonnage ratings are brought up like that's not 6 American freight cars.
I know I know different country different needs it's still funny
English

James was genuinely not built for this, Henry could manage up to 600 tons. I'm assuming they'd just double head if the trains were actually heavy.

Thinking about it now how tf are James and Henry pulling Morden day container trains

@Junctionmalfunk literally every single one of these is an old CGI promo with minor tweaks and the new faces?
Don't believe me, overlay the CG promos with these
English

@PeterSamFunnel They did the same thing with Toby, rofl. x.com/Junctionmalfun…

Hello, Nitrogen Era Promotion Artwork Livery Toby. Long time no see, preferably we would NOT be seeing you again.

@Nictrain123 Here's the thing
Thinking Wilbert sat Chris down and fed him this info illuminati style one day is fucking dumb.
He probably never even wrote any of this down.
You sent him front loaded questions you decided on so he could say 'yes' or 'no'
So it is your head canon actually

@01Salty1 "mocking my efforts"
No stupid we're mocking you

@PeterSamFunnel What kind of leader gets killed by a magic space cube?

@NWRWaffle Apart from the 1 wave 80th toys, the AEG range has been entirely consistent for a half decade.an entire generation of kids that came and went from the target audience with those toys. Idk where the "Constant" change is but imo it's been long enough
English

@PeterSamFunnel Mattel constantly changing everything is definitely a major flaw but I feel that if they didn't make the 80th toys and just went straight into the 2026 stuff I feel most people wouldn't be so negative about it all. My concern lies moreso with the show cause we know nothing still
English

Besides magnets the 2026 toy from a design perspective is the best. Fixing issues like the lever which caused issues due to its length on the AEG and “Classic” toys. Plus the middle wheel for the first time ever is an actual wheel. Just sucks the faces are so…controversial.

A brief account of Thomas toys by Mattel over the past 12 years.
English

@LOTTracks @EngineBoyF yeahhhh that's definitely a symptom of tooling these to re-use as many existing parts as possible. I bet that little range was dirt cheap for Mattel to produce
English

@PeterSamFunnel @EngineBoyF damn so they did allat just for the toys to look mid anyway
English

@NWRWaffle That's very valid, and I'm sure that it's going to end up being the main issue people have with this incarnation, but I also think that it's partly because Thomas has been nearly unchanged aesthetically for 40 years that's causing that feeling. Something most toylines can't claim
English

@PeterSamFunnel I think it's mostly things such as the colored irises or more drastic changes like James or Annie/Clarabel that are throwing people off since Annie & Clarabel never had grey faces and James just doesn't look like James to 99% of people (which I agree with)
