I don't know about all the other guys... but most of my success on Roblox hasn't been some grand master plan... lol Its mostly been me pursing random business ventures that interest me, or random game ideas that I've had. I think people overcomplicate things, or think there is some sorta secret formula. At least for me, there wasn't

@RBXevents_ By the way, I wouldn't count a game as 'AI-slop' if it has AI-generated scripts, but if it has an AI generated thumbnail, AI generated description, AI generated ideas and concepts (which are very obvious btw), then that would be textbook definition of AI-slop.

@RBXevents_ Better for people who have genuine skill in building, modelling, etc yet are unable to learn Lua programming and want to make a game. Worse for the community since more 'AI-slop' games show up on the front page.

@MaximumADHD I still don't think it's AI. I ran into similar artifacts when I had to project a high-poly McLaren-F1 car skin onto a low poly model for Jailbreak. Takes a lot of labor to correct after the fact.

I will capitulate and admit that some of them probably are AI. I can actually take a closer look and investigate if people can get a hold of the raw mesh assets for these newer heads.

@KreekCraft Could just be another gimmick designed to reap as much money as possible from an audience that they know have been longing for an egg hunt like this for years 🤷 30 bucks seems like way too much money per person especially because many would play it, $5 sounds more realistic.

I see a lot of people hating on this. 🚨 The reality is games are hard to make and cost a lot of money. So you either get F2P microtransaction games or Paid Access high quality games. Everyday people complain about the "slop" on Roblox, but when push comes to shove those words mean nothing if you're not willing to support the solution to that problem. $30 is a lot of money, and not everyone has that, but this is the solution to the problem so many complain about. For many people it's time to put your money where your mouth is.

@EvanZir I agree, it will definitely come to a point where easy cash-grab slop games are so common that big studios will be pushed to make something unique and creative

Alright, I’m just going to say it. I’m sure it’ll make people mad. My prediction: By the end of this year, the majority of games on Roblox will be made by AI or at least heavily assisted by AI. It’s already happening, it’s just a matter of time until AI gets good enough for someone who doesn’t know how to program to be able to make a game. Once that happens the amount of games that are going to release on Roblox every day will exponentially increase, and it’s going to be more and more slop. There will be significantly more competition and trends will move much faster than they already do now. Overall, I think it’ll increase the number of users making money on the platform, but decrease the average amount each developer is making. To try to look at the positive side, in my mind there are two things: - AI will allow anyone to make games without understanding gameplay loops or retention drivers, thus people with little game design experience will likely fail, so traditional developers will still prevail - This may actually push traditional developers & studios on the platform to focus more on higher quality games that will stand out compared to the “steal a”, “simulator”, “obby” slop that developers using AI will flood the platform with even further than it already is. I see starting in the second half of 2025 to the end of 2026 as a transition period for Roblox. Where everything just kind of sucks and everyone’s trying to make slop to generate as much money as possible, but then I feel like this much competition will push the truly good and creative developers to make high-quality, well thought-out, long-lasting IPs. Think a Pokemon or Hello Kitty, on a Roblox scale. We’ve seen it happen, there are some truly good and creative games made by Roblox Devs that have turned into life-long IPs: - Dandy’s World - Piggy - Rivals - Creatures of Sonaria - Dragon Adventures - Adopt Me - Dress to Impress - Forsaken and so many more. I’m not a fortune teller, so I could be entirely wrong, but I don’t think the doomer take of “Roblox will purely be a slop engine that isn’t profitable” is the correct take.

I respect anyone trying to be a Roblox developer, especially because it's not easy starting out - Your games will get 0 CCU - You learn skills, then literally no one orders - You get NO support at all, etc. It's like you're developing for the void, which is really demotivating
