A recent Carolina Journal poll confirms what families across North Carolina already know: school choice enjoys overwhelming support. The data shows strong approval for options and flexibility. Here are some highlights of the poll of likely voters: • 68% believe a child's parents or guardians are best suited to determine where a child should attend school • 64% support the Opportunity Scholarship Program • 57% support public charter schools • 79% support policies that allow students to change public schools within the same district if the new school is a better fit (open enrollment) • 41% oppose Governor Josh Stein's veto to opt North Carolina in to the federal tax credit scholarship program No matter the option - traditional public, public charter, or private - choice receives overwhelming support.
